FREINDS OF ASHDOWN FOREST EVENTS
Thursday, 22nd October 2009 - Annual General Meeting Nutley War Memorial Hall at 8.00 p.m.
Friday, 6th November 2009 - Charles Darwin and Ashdown Forest Nutley War Memorial Hall at 8.00 p.m. This year sees the 200th anniversary of the birth of Charles Darwin and the 150th anniversary of the publication of On the Origin of Species. David Harper, Senior Lecturer in Evolutionary Biology at the University of Sussex, will talk to us about Charles Darwin and his links with the Forest.
Thursday 4th February 2010 - Historic Environment Awareness Project Nutley War Memorial Hall at 8.00 p.m. Lyn Palmer, the Project Officer, has kindly agreed to talk to us about this exciting venture and the liDAR survey that has been flown over part of the Forest. The data gained can reveal ancient routeways, enclosures, mounds and pits.
Sunday 25th April 2010 - A Bird Walk on Ashdown Forest 9.00 a.m. from Long Car Park with members of the Ashdown Forest Bird Group.
Tuesday 11th May 2010 - Chelwood Vachery - a tour with Dr. Hew Prendergast at 6.30 p.m. from Trees Car Park. Places are limited.

Sunday 6th June 2010 - A Field Walk in Pippingford Park 2.30 p.m. from Millbrook East car park Another chance to see the wldlife, iron workings, pillow mounds and World War II earthworks. Places are limited to 25 for this 3-hour walk.
Tuesday 15th June 2010 - A Nightjar Walk 8.30 p.m. (location to be decided) with members of the Ashdown Forest Bird Group.
